The Glendale Chocolate Affaire ended last night–because of the Super bowl being held here, the Chocolate Affaire was canceled for Sunday.
It was a terrific event, as always, and I sold well, but more importantly, I got a great chance to meet and talk to lots of readers. My two workshops – The Life of a Writer: Is it all Really Glamor & Bon Bons? & The Butterscotch Martini Girls: Critique Groups. The Good, the Bad & The Butterscotch Martini Girls, went very well. The booth the city of Glendale (AZ) provided was excellent, as usual. They really spoil us! And Mr. Ceretta, brought us chocolate covered strawberries throughout the weekend.
We all met for breakfast on Friday morning at 7:30 a local restaurant called Bitzee Mama’s and then headed over to set up the romance writer’s booth. It was more chilly than usual, so us Phoenix natives were cold during the day, and downright freezing at night! We were at the booth from the opening of the Chocolate Affaire noon on Friday until ten pm that night, and then, luckily, we walked a block to a great little hotel called the Glendale Gaslight Inn. Soft beds, great rooms, jazz in the lobby on Friday and Saturday nights and just a few stumbling steps away from our booth Saturday morning started much the same with breakfast back at Bitzee Mama’s and then back to the booth from 10am-10pm. However, we did have cover model, CJ Hollenback posing for pictures all day Saturday, and he was quite a popular draw for our booth! Not to mention, he’s a really great guy. Once the event was over, we had to pack everything up and load the cars since the event was over. But, thankfully, we could still stumble back to the hotel just a short block away.
Which brings me to this morning. We already returned from Bitzee Mama’s, and now we are sitting in the large and very comfortable lobby of the Glendale Gaslight Inn, checking email and writing.
And I just found my new Cassie Ryan cover on someone else’s blog! How cool is that? Apparently, it’s the site for the male cover model who appears on Vision of Seduction, Nathan Kamp. I didn’t know who we was when I received the cover, but now that I do, I’ll make sure to tell people who ask! If anyone knows who the woman is on that cover, please drop me a line
Well, I’m off to get some writing done and enjoy the relaxing quiet until the streets become clogged with drunk super bowl attendees (the University of Phoenix Stadium is VERY close to here, and in fact, other than us, the hotel is chock full of super bowl fans.
Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!
