Some great reviews and more!!!!

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

I know I’m really behind on getting my newsletter out the door.  I’m shooting for sometime this weekend.  (Cross your fingers for me!)  Anyway, I have a few things I thought I’d announce on here.

First, I came home the other night to find a box on my doorstep from Kensington.  I figured they’d sent me a few more author copies of Vision of Seduction, so I didn’t open it right away.  Once I finally got around to opening it, I was happily shocked at what I found.

Ceremonia de Seduccion, aka, Ceremony of Seduction in Spanish, as sold in Spain.  Woo Hoo!  Before this I didn’t even know any of the foreign rights had been sold.  I did Google it to try to find the cover image to post up here, but the image showing on the Spanish bookstores isn’t the same one I received, so there might be a few different versions floating around out there.

The cover it actually has on it is a fuzzed out picture of a couple embracing–so much more tame than either of my Seduction Series covers in the US…lol!

Now the only Spanish I know is what I learned on Sesame Street, so a lot of the words in this book are totally beyond my comprehension…lol.  However, in the dedication, I had said, “To my Critique Group, The Butterscotch Martini Girls…” and the Translation of that is fun :-) “Mis Mejores criticas, las Chicas Butterscotch Martini”

Anyway, I’m still doing a big happy dance off this one!  Cassie Ryan has gone International!!  Here’s hoping for more translation books to pour in!!  I’d love to be able to add “Whose books are available in 44 languages world wide!” or something fun like that to my bio.  Tee Hee!

Also, I received some new reviews for Take It Off:

Take It Off was certainly one hot, yummy book! This was my first time experiencing Tina Gerow’s writing, and I definitely look forward to reading more of her exciting storytelling.

-4 Stars, Contessa, Fallen Angle Reviews I fear that I’ve become a Tina Gerow junkie and Take It Off is a perfect example as to why.  The chemistry between Samantha and Chase is HOT and ignites the pages.  Rarely have I read love scenes that are hotter so you might want to have a bucket of ice and a dry pair of panties nearby when you read this sexy story.  Not only is Take It Off hot, it’s sweet and funny.  Tina Gerow’s creativity will have you laughing out loud and turning each page just to see what she’s come up with next!  My only regret was that this story wasn’t longer!

Also, I received some new reviews for Vortex Blues:

Tina Gerow’s new book, VORTEX BLUES, brings to life two riveting characters…readers can’t help but cheer them on!  Like boiling water, it soon heats up and leaves no prisoners.  What I enjoyed most was the build up of these two flawed characters who discover more and more about each other and the trust that slowly develops between Mitch and Molly.  In closing, Tina Gerow, I have only three words for you.  I want more!

Filled with supernatural creatures galore, Vortex Blues was a fast paced paranormal mystery. There were plenty of suspenseful and humorous moments to keep the plot rolling along.  The mystery was well written and I enjoyed the byplay between the other characters.  The paranormal world built by Ms. Gerow was well thought out and planned and seems like an intriguing place to visit.

Great review of Ceremony of Seduction on The Good, The Bad & The Unread!!

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

A Google alert popped into my box this morning and let me find a really terrific review about Ceremony of Seduction on the blog The Good, The Bad & The Unread!  And what I appreciated about it the most was it was a very honest and heartfelt review.  No, she didn’t love everything, but she had great reasons for those and explained them well.  Hell, as authors we don’t ever feel our books are perfect, so I have no issues reading a well balanced review.

What was truly great is, I felt this reviewer really “got” my warped sense of humor, and that’s why she connected so well with the book.  So, a big thanks and shout out to Shannon C!

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Midnight Thoughts…

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

It’s midnight here in Arizona, and I’m up watching one of my absolute favorite movies of all time — Pride & Prejudice.  This is the one with Kiera Knightly and Matthew MacFadyen.  And I’m also doing some due diligence that’s long overdue.  What do I mean by that?

I’m Googling myself…lol.

You may think that’s a bit off the wall, but actually, it’s something all authors should do periodically.  And since I write under two pen names, I have to do it for both.  Why?  First, you can find new reviews, fans, great buzz on your books as well as places that have old blog links, incorrect information , or readers/bookstores searching for information on your books.

I have to admit, it’s been a while since I Googled Tina, and boy did I find a lot of things to address.  Eight websites still have my old Bravenet blog that I haven’t used for about a year, there are readers who are out looking for Into a Dangerous Mind (since that pub went under, I have the rights back to that story), and who are looking for Ice Maiden (same as Into a Dangerous Mind).

There’s also some girl by that same name who lives in California who got busted for selling drugs, and that pops every single time I Google myself.  I really hope my readers don’t think that was me!!  But as high as it comes up in the rankings, I’m afraid it probably gets more hits than I’d like.  Very ironic since I’m one of those rare children of the eighties who never did or even saw any drugs at all.  The girl who actually did sell the crack is probably wondering why the link to her trial story is so high in rankings since 99% of the rest of the Google hits on that name are about me.  But I do share the name with an administrative assistant, a young girl on the honor roll at her school…and, of course, the drug dealer…lol.

Anyway, I’ll have to find another night this week to Google Cassie and see what nefarious things her dopplegangers are up to!

On that note, I’m of to watch the end of Pride & Prejudice where the very delectable Matthew MacFadyen says, “You’ve bewitched me body and soul, and I love…I love…I love you, and never wish to be parted from you from this day onward.”  That always brings a sigh and a smile :)   The fight scene of the first proposal is a favorite of mine as well as the end confrontation with Lady Catherine.  But those have already passed.

Night all!

5 Cups Review for Vision of Seduction!!!!

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

I just received another great review–this time a 5 Cups Review from Coffee Time Romance for Vision of Seduction.

Here’s the entire review:

Katelyn Hunt owns and operates a bookstore with her best friend Rita. She is a solitary soul because of her gift of having visions. As a child she was ostracized for her ability because she had not yet learned that others not only do not appreciate her telling them what was to come, but that often they did not believe in such a gift and would make fun of her. Because of this, she keeps most people at bay, except for Rita. The first time she sees Grayson though, she thinks she just might make an exception for the hot guy who has been hanging out in her store for days!

Grayson de Klatch has agreed to marry someone who is not a Klatch witch in order to complete the ritual of the triangle to save his home world of Tador. He has been searching for the Seer spoken of in a former queen’s diaries. He is ecstatic when the Seer turns out to be Katelyn, the woman whose store he has been frequenting, since he is already very attracted to her.

When Katelyn finally works up the courage to approach the man who has had her panties in a twist for days, she has no idea just how powerful their attraction to each other is going to be. When a vision of them together in a lushly green park assails her the first time she touches him, she has an orgasm on the spot. She expects him to react with scorn, distrust or pity, instead she sees concern for her welfare and she discovers he is aware of her gift and respects it. However, before they can do anything about their mutual attraction, Cunt warriors arrive to try and steal Katelyn for their own bizarre and evil triangle ceremony which, if successful, would make their queen the ruler of Tador and displace the present Klatch queen. Unfortunately, Katelyn takes a bolt of energy to the stomach and Grayson is also injured. However, in spite of this, Grayson is able to open a portal and get them through to Tador. As Katelyn and Grayson recover from the attack they become closer, but Grayson and the other de Klatch royalty are keeping secrets from Katelyn, afraid that she might refuse to help them. Will Grayson’s love be enough to convince Katelyn that the deception was for a good reason, or will she return to Earth leaving Tador and Grayson heartbroken?

All I can say is wow, I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Ms. Ryan did it again; writing a book that is every bit as fantastic as the first in this series, Ceremony of Seduction! In Vision of Seduction, she successfully builds on the previous story and even gives the reader clues about the third upcoming book. Katelyn as the lonely woman with a powerful gift who has no use for men except for sex is positively spellbinding. Grayson is her perfect counterpart; a man who is loving, generous, and is someone who can fulfill all of Katelyn’s needs both sexual and emotional. I loved getting to see Tador through Katelyn’s eyes and some of the secrets of her childhood that are revealed in the telling of this story make it that much more special. The lovemaking is hotter than hot and helps to drive this story to its breathtaking conclusion. I cannot recommend this series enough to those who enjoy erotic romance with paranormal elements!
